# The free edition

> What the free edition of Consile includes, who gets it, the limit of 100 calls a month, and how you move on to the Consile Studio membership.

The free edition costs 0 DKK. It gives access to almost every system in the
catalogue with one user and 100 tool calls a month. Under
[Subscription](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/subscription.md) it appears as **Consile Free**.

## What is included

* Every system in the catalogue except CVR. Systems that Consile makes available
  only to selected customers are not included either.
* 1 user.
* 100 tool calls a month for the whole organization.
* 1 own connector in [Studio](https://docs.consile.ai/en/studio/introduction.md), either for AI assistants or
  for an AI bot.

In [Connectors](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/marketplace.md), the card for each included system says
*In the free edition, 100 calls/month*.

## What is not included

* CVR. You get it with [the Consile Studio membership](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/membership.md), or by
  buying CVR individually.
* More users.
* More own connectors. You cannot buy more in the free edition.

## Who gets it

* A new organization gets the free edition automatically once the first user has
  accepted Consile's terms in the [portal](https://app.consile.ai). This happens the
  first time you connect or buy a system. The person who accepted the terms gets
  the licence. See [Get started](https://docs.consile.ai/en/quickstart.md).
* Organizations that have already bought from Consile do not get it and are not
  moved. They keep what they have.
* There is no free trial, because the edition is free.

## 100 calls a month

* The limit applies to the whole organization. The month follows UTC, and the limit
  resets at the start of each month.
* Only calls to systems you have not bought individually count. Calls to a system
  you have bought individually, for example CVR, do not count, and the limit never
  stops them.
* Calls that Consile itself refuses do not count, for example when the user does not
  have access to the tool.

When the 100 calls are used, call number 101 is refused, and nothing is changed.
Your AI is told that the calls in the plan are used, that the limit resets at the
start of next month, and that an administrator can take out the Consile Studio
membership in the portal. The message to the AI is in English and starts like this:

> *"This Consile account has used 100 of 100 tool calls included in its plan for \<YYYY-MM>, so the call was not made and nothing was changed."*

Under [Subscription](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/subscription.md), the **Usage this month** card shows
the calls that count toward the limit. The **Calls this month** field on
**Overview** counts all calls, including those that do not count.

## One user

The free edition has one user. You can still invite colleagues to the team, but only
one person can have the licence. If an administrator tries to give it to one more
person, the portal answers:

*The plan includes one user, and the licence is assigned. Remove it from a colleague
first if somebody else needs it.*

## Buy single connectors

* You buy systems outside the free edition, for example CVR, individually as
  described in [Buy a connector](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/buy-a-connector.md). The purchase comes
  with a 7-day free trial.
* A purchase on an account with the free edition is billed in the same currency as
  the free edition. If you have chosen a different currency under **Market**, the
  portal refuses the purchase with *This account is billed in a different currency.
  Contact support and we'll move it.*
* Calls to a system you have bought individually do not count toward the 100.

## The free edition cannot be cancelled

If you try to cancel **Consile Free** under Subscription, the portal answers:

*The free plan can't be cancelled. Delete the account under Account if you want to
stop entirely.*

## Move on to Consile Studio

The membership lifts the limit of 100 calls and gives you more users, CVR and 3 own
connectors per user. The price starts at 349 DKK/month excl. VAT.

**1. Find the card on Overview**

At the bottom of **Overview** is the **Buy Consile Studio** card with the price
for you. Only an administrator can buy.

**2. See and confirm**

Click **See and buy**. The dialog shows the amount, and whether there is a free
trial. Confirm with **Buy the membership**.

* If the account has a payment card, the free edition is repriced to the
  membership. No new subscription is created, and no connection is broken.
* If the account does not have a payment card, you buy the membership in Stripe
  Checkout. The free edition stays alongside it and still costs nothing.
* The first 7 days are free when you buy in Stripe Checkout, and when the
  organization has not paid for anything with Consile before.
