# CVR

> Look up Danish companies, production units (P-numbers) and owners in the Central Business Register. Managed and 100% read-only, with nothing to connect.

*[Læs siden på dansk](https://docs.consile.ai/connectors/cvr.md)*

The CVR connector gives your AI **read-only** access to the public data in the
Danish Central Business Register (CVR) from the Danish Business Authority
(Erhvervsstyrelsen): search and fetch companies by name or CVR number with status,
company type, main industry, address, founding date, employment and share
capital, find production units (P-numbers), and see participants (owners,
management, founders, legal and beneficial owners, and auditors) with ownership
share and voting share. You can also look up which companies a person is or was a
participant in. No exports or spreadsheets.

> connector is **100% read-only**: nothing can be created, changed or sent.

* **Price:** 99 DKK/month excl. VAT. No lock-in,
cancel at any time. CVR is priced only in Danish kroner. The price covers 1 user,
and each extra user costs 49.50 DKK/month excl. VAT. See [Pricing](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/pricing.md).
CVR is also included in [the Consile Studio membership](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/membership.md), but
  not in the free edition.
* **No extra agreements:** there is no account to connect, so there are no
agreements to add either. One subscription covers the whole register.
* **Endpoint:** `https://mcp.consile.ai/cvr/mcp` (your own named connector in your AI).

## Get started

CVR is a managed integration. There is no account to connect, no API key to
enter and no login to approve.

**1. Buy CVR**

An administrator buys CVR under **Marketplace** in the
[portal](https://app.consile.ai). The purchase starts with a 7-day free
trial, and the first payment is taken when it ends. When the purchase is
complete, the portal shows **Subscription activated** with the connector's URL,
and CVR shows as **Connected** right away. The **Connect CVR** button on that
page just opens the CVR page in the portal. There is nothing to connect. See
[Buy a connector](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/buy-a-connector.md).

**2. Add CVR in your AI**

Add `https://mcp.consile.ai/cvr/mcp` as a connector in your AI, and log in with
your own Consile login. See [Connect Claude](https://docs.consile.ai/en/connect/connect-claude.md) or
[Connect ChatGPT](https://docs.consile.ai/en/connect/connect-chatgpt.md).

**3. Ask your question**

The tools work right away. There is no step where you have to connect CVR.

Because no account is connected, there is nothing to disconnect either. CVR shows
as **Connected** for as long as you subscribe. If an administrator disconnects
on the **Connections** card, nothing changes for CVR. To stop CVR, an
administrator must cancel the subscription under **Subscription**. See
[Subscription](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/subscription.md).

## Multiple users

Whoever buys CVR automatically gets access. Other users in your organization must
be assigned access before they can use the tools:

1. An administrator opens **Team** in the portal and clicks the user's name.
2. Choose **All tools** next to CVR.
3. The portal shows the price for an extra user (49.50 DKK/month excl. VAT) and asks
for a confirmation (**Confirm an extra user**). The amount is billed pro rata
   from the same day.

If the administrator chooses **None** again, the access is removed, and the extra
user is no longer billed. CVR has no levels such as **Read only** and **Full
access**, because all the tools only read. If the administrator wants to give a
user fewer tools, they can choose **Custom** and pick the tools. It costs the
same.

Each user adds CVR in their own AI and logs in with their own Consile login.
A colleague without access can still see the tools in their AI, but every lookup
is refused with a message that an administrator must assign access under Team in
the portal. If a colleague has created their own Consile account, they should not
buy CVR again, but ask an administrator for an invitation to your team. See
[Team](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/team.md).

If you have [the Consile Studio membership](https://docs.consile.ai/en/portal/membership.md), an administrator
instead gives one membership licence per person, and it also covers CVR.

## What can it do? (tools)

You do not need to know the tool names. You ask in natural language, and your AI
picks the right one itself. The connector provides **5 read-only tools**,
grouped here by what they answer:

**Companies**

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `soeg_virksomhed` | Search companies by current name: CVR number, status, company type, main industry, address, founding date and latest number of employees (up to 50 results, default 10) |
| `hent_virksomhed` | Fetch one company's master data by CVR number, incl. employment (employees and full-time equivalents) and share capital with currency |

**Production units**

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `find_produktionsenheder` | Production units (P-numbers, physical places of business) for a CVR number with name, status, main industry, address and latest number of employees (up to 50 per call) |

**Owners & people**

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `find_ejere` | Participants (owners, management, founders, legal and beneficial owners, auditors) with active/historical status per role, ownership share and voting share normalized to 0-100 percent |
| `find_virksomheder_for_person` | The companies a person is or was a participant in, searched by the person's name, with roles and an active flag |

The tools are called `cvr__<tool>` (for example `cvr__soeg_virksomhed`) when your
AI calls them. You only need to ask the question in natural language.

## Try asking

> **Company lookups**
>
> > *"Look up CVR 12345678 and show status, industry and address."*
>
> > *"What is the latest registered employment for the company with CVR number 12345678?"*

> **Owners & management**
>
> > *"Who is on the board and the executive management of \<company name>?"*
>
> > *"Show the owners of CVR 12345678 with ownership share and voting share."*

> **P-units & people**
>
> > *"Find all production units for the company with CVR number 12345678."*
>
> > *"Which companies is the person \<name> a participant in, and what roles do they have?"*

> [!TIP]
>
> If you know the CVR number, mention it in the question. Then you get a precise
> answer right away. Otherwise your AI first finds the number itself with a name
> search.

## Limitations

* **Read-only:** the connector only reads public CVR data. It can never
create, change or delete anything, neither in CVR nor anywhere else.
* **Limits per call:** `soeg_virksomhed` and `find_virksomheder_for_person` fetch
10 results by default and at most 50. `find_produktionsenheder` fetches up to 50
P-units per call. If the company has more, the `total` field shows the full
number, but at most 50 are returned. `find_ejere` returns all of the company's
participant relations, and `find_virksomheder_for_person` returns all companies
  for each person it finds.
* **Search:** `soeg_virksomhed` only searches the company's current name (not
former names, CVR number or address), and every word in the search must appear in
the name. The results can include dissolved companies, so look at the `status`
field. `find_virksomheder_for_person` searches all the person's registered names
and can find several people with the same name.
* **GDPR and privacy:** the advertising-protection field is always shown on company
and P-unit results and is never hidden. CVR never exposes CPR numbers: people
are identified by the Danish Business Authority's internal entity number.
* **Data details:** share capital is only returned by `hent_virksomhed`, not by
`soeg_virksomhed`. Ownership share and voting share are normalized to 0-100
percent (the raw CVR value and the source register are kept), and only the
current shares are shown, not historical ones. Employment figures are the most
recent figure across CVR's series and can be a range (for example 50-99
employees) instead of an exact number.
* **Errors:** if a lookup fails, for example because the CVR register does not
answer, your AI only gets the general message "Tool invocation failed." without
further explanation. There is never anything to reconnect for CVR. Try again in
a little while, and write to [support@consile.dk](mailto:support@consile.dk) if the error persists.
